日々のくらしの中にまだまだ土の香り、雨の香りが身近にあった頃。
雨が降り続く季節。
濡れた紫陽花の葉っぱの上や、今ではあまり見なくなったブロック塀の影には小さなお家（貝殻）を背負ったカタツムリ達が集まっていたものです。
今ではその姿をみることはなかなかなくなったように感じます。
でも、そんな彼らの姿を雨が降ると思い出します。
猫の目工房の手から生まれてくる小さな生き物たちは、幼い頃の思い出の中にもはっきり息づいていて、とある森のさらに奥深くハナガラノモリに生息しているのです。
忘れさられたくないコたちを思い出すとノスタルジックなひとときを楽しめるかもしれません。

でーんでんむーしむしかーたつむりー
なんて、歌いながらつの？をツンツンしていました。
制作するにあたり、歌の中の「つの」だの「やり」だの幼い頃は気にしなかったカラダの特徴や、そのカラダのどの部分に貝殻がしっくりハマっているのか？など今まで考えなかったところを調べまくりました。
カラダの質感を表現できる模様のミルフィオリを考えたり、貝殻の巻き具合とそれに合わせられるようグラデーションのミルフィオリを作ったので貝殻の表から裏側への色の変化もお楽しみいただけるかと思います。這って移動するハナガラでんでん、地べたからカラダへツルがのび、花を纏っています。

About this piece
There was once a time when the scent of soil and the fragrance of rain were still close companions in our daily lives.
During the long rainy season, tiny snails carrying their little homes (shells) on their backs could often be found gathering on the leaves of rain-soaked hydrangeas or hiding in the shadows of old concrete block walls — places that have become less familiar in our modern lives.
Nowadays, it feels increasingly rare to encounter these little creatures.
Yet whenever the rain begins to fall, I find myself remembering their gentle presence.
The small creatures born from the hands of Nekonome Koubou continue to live vividly within my childhood memories. They now inhabit Hanagara no Mori, a magical forest hidden deep beyond the woods.
By remembering these little beings who should never be forgotten, perhaps you too can enjoy a nostalgic moment filled with the quiet memories of days gone by.
Creation Notes
“Snail, snail, little snail…”
As a child, I would sing this song while gently touching the little snail’s feelers.
While creating this piece, I began researching the details I had never really noticed as a child — the body features described in the song, such as the “feelers” and “horns,” and how exactly the shell naturally rests upon the snail’s body.
I designed millefiori patterns to express the texture of the snail’s body, and created a special gradient millefiori pattern to match the spiral shape of the shell. This allows you to enjoy the subtle changes in color from the front of the shell to the back.
The Hanagara Denden slowly crawls along the ground, while tiny vines grow from its body and bloom into flowers it carries with it.
