背伸びしながら見上げる瞳。
大好きなひとからの視線や言葉を待っているかのよう。
黒い毛並みには、よく見ると青い花や緑のつる模様がひっそりと咲いています。
大好きな人の声をわくわく期待しながら待っていたり、
「あのねー」って話しかけるタイミングをどきどきしながらはかっているのかもしれません。
そんな物語のひとコマを思い浮かべながら制作しました。
ふと目が合うたびに
暮らしの中で小さな会話が生まれるような存在になれたら嬉しいです。

黒猫は光の当たり方や視線の角度で表情が大きく変わります。背伸びしているような姿勢や仕草、目線の角度を何度も調整しながら制作しました。
「かわいいね」
「おはよう」
そんな一言を時々でも毎日でもかけてもらえたら、この子はとても幸せだと思います。

A Black Cat Who Wants You, the One They Love, to Talk to Them
This is a black cat who wants the person they love most to talk to them.
With its body stretched up tall,
it gazes up at you with longing eyes.
As if it were waiting for the gaze and words of the person it loves most.
At first glance, its fur appears simply black,
but if you look closely, you will find delicate blue flowers and subtle green vines quietly blooming across its coat.
Perhaps it is eagerly waiting to hear the voice of the person it loves,
or maybe it is nervously trying to find just the right moment to say,
“Hey, you know…”
I created this piece while imagining a little scene from such a story.
I would be happy if this little cat could become a presence in your everyday life,
bringing about tiny conversations whenever your eyes happen to meet.

A black cat’s expression can change dramatically depending on how the light falls and the angle of its gaze.
I carefully adjusted its posture, as though it were stretching up to reach you, along with its gestures and the angle of its eyes, again and again while creating this piece.
“Such a cute cat.”
“Good morning.”
I think this little one would be very happy if you talked to them with words like these,
whether only once in a while or every single day.
